Switching to Ademco

Switching is easier than you think.

Most businesses stay with a provider they've outgrown because changing feels risky. Here's exactly how Ademco manages a move — step by step, with no surprises.

The switching process

Seven straightforward steps.

You'll always know what's happening, who's doing it and what's expected of you.

  1. 1. Initial conversation

We talk through what you have today, what works and what doesn't.

  2. 2. Review of your current setup

We look at your bills, services, contracts and notice periods.

  3. 3. Recommendation

A clear, written recommendation in plain English — including doing nothing.

  4. 4. Agreement & planning

Once you're happy, we agree dates and plan around your working hours.

  5. 5. Installation & configuration

We handle the provisioning, porting and configuration with the suppliers.

  6. 6. Go-live support

We're on hand on the day to make sure everything works as it should.

  7. 7. Ongoing account management

A named contact who knows your business, not a queue number.

Common concerns

Switching FAQs

Will we lose service while switching?
No. Switches are planned so your services continue working. Number ports and broadband transfers are scheduled to minimise any interruption, and we tell you in advance if a short cutover window is unavoidable.
Can we keep our existing phone numbers?
In almost all cases, yes. UK numbers can normally be ported to a new provider, including geographic and non-geographic numbers.
How long does switching take?
It depends on the services involved. Mobiles and hosted phone systems can move quickly, while broadband and leased lines depend on network lead times. We'll give you realistic timescales up front.
What if we're still in contract?
That's fine. We can review your setup now, note your renewal dates and get in touch when the timing is right — there's no pressure to break an existing agreement.
Who deals with our old provider?
Where we can act on your behalf, we will. Where a cancellation must come directly from you, we tell you exactly what to send and when.
